Section L - Domestic pets

What you are covered for:

We will pay GBP10 for each full 24-hour period of delay for extra fees contractually due to be paid to the appropriate pre-booked kennel or cattery for boarding your dog or cat in the United Kingdom at the start of your trip if the original pre-booked return journey by air, sea or cross-channel train to the United Kingdom is delayed because of circumstances outside your control. Such return journey must be delayed by at least 24 consecutive hours and we will pay up to the sum insured shown on the Schedule of Benefits.

Special conditions which apply to section L

It is a condition of the cover provided under this section that:

  1. You must have checked in for your return journey at or before the recommended time;
  2. You get a written statement from the appropriate transport company or authority confirming the reason for the delay and how long it lasted;
  3. Any amount we pay under this section applies only to domestic cats or dogs that you own; and
  4. You must get a written statement from the appropriate kennel or cattery confirming any extra charges that you have to pay as a result of your delay.

What you are not covered for:

  1. Any claim resulting from a strike or industrial action which you knew about before the start of your trip.

WINTER SPORTS BENEFITS ­ ONLY AVAILABLE IF THE APPROPRIATE ADDITIONAL PREMIUM HAS BEEN PAID OR IF YOU PURCHASED ANNUAL MULTI TRIP INSURANCE.

This benefit provides for up to but not exceeding 21 days during the Period of Insurance shown in the certificate validation document.
