Section B - Abandoning your trip and travel delay

What you are covered for:

We will pay up to the sum insured shown on the Schedule of Benefits if the start of your pre-booked outward journey from the United Kingdom or return international journey direct to the United Kingdom by air, sea or cross channel train is delayed, due to circumstances outside your control. You must be delayed by at least twelve consecutive hours from scheduled departure.

Travel delay

We will pay GBP20 after each complete twelve-hour period of delay to the start of your pre-booked outward journey from the United Kingdom, as long as you eventually go on the trip. We will pay up to the sum insured shown on the Schedule of Benefits.

Abandonment

If it is necessary for you to have to cancel the outward part of your trip as a result of a delay lasting more than 24 consecutive hours, we will pay an amount equal to the cost of your trip up to the sum insured shown on the Schedule of Benefits less any amounts that you can claim back.
