A new study has shown that 12% of people do not know what level of cover their insurance provides. You can miss out on a claim pay out if you simply don’t know what is covered; or you may not have essential cover you need and discover an unpleasant surprise when it comes to a claim. Don’t assume - read policy details and talk to your provider if you are unsure.

You might have travel insurance as a part of your bank account package for instance, and assume it will cover you and your family whilst abroad.
If, say, you travel with your partner and your partner’s children who don’t normally live with you, then most likely, the children will not be covered by your policy; therefore, require an additional cover.

It is important to have cover for any medical condition you have. If your medical condition has been stable for the last 5 years, you may get the cover for it without any additional premium with Cover My Travels. Call us on 0800 917 7829 to get a quote including cover for your medical condition.

Even if your medical condition is stable, the unusual environment can challenge your body and can affect you more whilst you travel, than at home. When your body is exposed to different environmental conditions- higher sun radiation, higher temperature than you usually live in, different quality of water and unusual food, your body may not adjust quickly enough and may respond in an unusual way- in other words, you can get sick.

If you intend to travel to tropical countries, visit your GP and get the necessary vaccines for diseases like malaria or yellow fever- common in South America and Africa, but can be deadly for the English immune system.
