Sinusitis

When the sinuses become inflamed and swollen due to an infection is can lead to sinusitis. It is a common condition and effects people mainly after they have had a cold or the flu. The symptoms are not that dissimilar to that of a cold, high temperature, tenderness over the infected area and discharge from the nose are all common signs. There are varying degrees of sinusitis with some experiencing symptoms for a long period of time. As with colds, the immune system can clear the virus within a week without treatment. In some case where severe symptoms are being experienced, antibiotics may be prescribed.
