Hysterectomy

A hysterectomy is when the womb is surgically removed and is one of the most common operations performed on women. The reason behind the removal is to treat a medical problem such as fibroids or endometriosis. A hysterectomy is a last resort and many other treatments will have been tried before this is an option. Other reasons for a hysterectomy include, cancer within that area and pelvic inflammatory disease.
