Gout
One in 200 adults and men aged between 40 and 60 are mainly affected by gout. The cause of gout is having too much uric acid in your blood. The increase in acid causes crystals to form and collect in the joints causing the inflammation and pain.
Gout affects joints for a period of time causing inflammation of the joint, which will become swollen and may make the skin become red and sore around the affected area. The condition can subside without treatment however the condition can flare up more frequently and last for longer periods of time. The pain can be quickly eased with the use of anti-inflammatory painkillers. There are other methods that suffers can adopt to prevent gout returning, such as losing weight if needed and reduce alcohol intake.
If there have been no changes to your medical condition over the last 12 months, Cover My Travels can provide a comprehensive travel insurance policy with no additional charge.
