Bell`s palsy

Bell`s Palsy is not caused by anything in particular and the condition causes facial paralysis. This condition is fairly common and it has been suggested that Bell`s Palsy will affect 1 in 70 people in their lifetime. Thankfully over 80% of people recover fully within weeks without treatment. There is no known cause for this condition, although it is believed that viral infections or diabetes can increase the risk of developing Bell`s Palsy.

Treatments for this condition can vary from gentle face massaging to physiotherapy known as 'facial retraining'. In the most extreme cases plastic surgery may be an option to improve permanent facial damage.
