Medical conditions
Allergic reaction (not life threatening)
An allergic reaction is when something has an adverse reaction with the body and can develop on the skin, lining of the lungs, mouth, gullet, stomach or intestine. Pollen, dust mites or nuts are just some of the causes of allergic reactions. Different people are allergic to different things and the reactions can vary in seriousness. As allergies are personal, many will have differing symptoms, the most common are, sneezing, coughing, a rash, swelling and sickness.
Treatments also vary; the most effective is to avoid the cause of the reaction. Others are antihistamines, creams and other antibiotics. To prevent some conditions becoming life threatening a treatment called hypo sensitisation can be used. Increasing amounts of the substance to which the body is allergic, gets introduced into the body encouraging it to make antibodies.
If there have been no changes to your medical condition over the last 12 months, Cover My Travels can provide a comprehensive travel insurance policy with no additional charge.
